Current Call for Oestara Coop Books
|
- Oestara Publishing LLC is seeking non-fiction on topics of Paganism.
- Oestara Publishing LLC is seeking literary romances and literary cross-genre romances.
- The romances must have something to say; Just a basic boy-girl story won't do it.
- No Christian romances, please. Pagan romances are very welcome.
- No violent stories please. We are interested in romances as opposed to erotica, so keep the sex relative to the story. Hetersexual sex, please, though poly romances are welcome.
- If any character in a story smokes, then there must be the inclusion of the sentence along the lines of "Smoking is harmful to health" in the same scene where smoking occurs. An even stronger statement against smoking is welcome, so long as it is true.

Submission Process
|
- There are four parts to the submissions process.
- First, send an email of your educational background and a 450-300 writing sample to Cynthia at oestarapublishing dot com. (Be sure to remove the abra.)
- If your writing sample is sufficiently good, you will be requested to send the first 6,000 words of your book in rtf. If you pass this second round, you will be asked to send a full rtf copy of your book.
- If the first 6,000 words are sufficiently good, you will be asked to send a full rtf copy of your book.
- If revisions are wanted by Oestara Publishing LLC, a request for revisions will be sent to you with an invitation to resubmit the book once the revisions are complete. Some applicant’s books may not need revision in which case they will be invited to join the cooperative. Those books that are resubmitted after revision will be reevaluated. Warning! A revised book could still be turned down!
Please keep in mind that revision in this case means real re-writing, not editing to correct the occassion spelling, typo, or grammatical error. If your book is riff with grammatical errors, this of course is cause for rejection.
- Acceptance of your book means acceptance into the coop.

The Work Exchange
|
- For each book that a member publishes through the cooperative, the member must perform one of these tasks:
- Proof read for spelling, punctuation, mechanics, and grammar of another member’s book; provide the member and the Editor-in-Chief with a list of errors to be corrected or a corrected copy where the corrections made are easy to spot. Any book that exceeds 140,000 words will count as two tasks. Grammar must conform to the Oestara standards of correct usage of well and good, than/as constructions, and the proper past tense of sneak.
- Assist with marketing. There are a variety of ways of doing this. Details of Oestara Coop marketing plans are for members only.
